I think I have not made my situation clear in last mail.
Here the machine which I have configured as Name server has hostname dempolinux and
domainname edp. So the FQDN of Linux server which is also a Name server is
dempolinux.edp. I have configured the same machine as DHCP server too. It assigns IP
to one of windows clients and Samba works fine.
Now we have got an existing Unix Server whose hostname is scosysv and I want to put
that in the Name server Configuration. I think I have made a mistake here, since there
is no domain name for the Unix Server I will not be able to put that in Name server
configuration. Correct me if I am wrong.
The IP of Unix Server (scosysv) : 160.1.1.2
The IP of Linux Server (dempolinux.edp) : 160.1.1.3
The IP of a DOS client : 160.1.1.12 ( which was reassined for
connecting to SCO server ).
I have put the following in /etc/resolv.conf :

search edp
nameserver 127.0.0.1
nameserver 160.1.1.3
My /etc/hosts file contains the following :
-----------------------------------------
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
160.1.1.3 dempolinux.edp dempolinux
160.1.1.12 rajeshpc
Am I correct here ?
