I tell you what I do. On RHL6.2 fresh install kppp screwed up nicely, thanks to
userhelper, the little RHL program for authenticate users as root.

IWhat I do now is run a shell in KDE, su in that and run kppp. Simple enough for
my home machine.

The sole reason I want kppp is the running statistics of line. that's a very
good feature I miss everywhere else. RH Dialer graphs are not that impressive.
