hey lugies, guess what!??!

folowing on christophers discovery, i just looked into one of my
machines which had RH7 instaled recently, and it has /misc as zero
bytes.

next, i cheked with another machine but with Mandrake 7.2. that just
added to my confusion, bcoz it had two such directories, viz. /net and
/misc which were zero byte size with "lsattr -a" givin the error as said
by christopher.

both of these machines were "fresh" installs of respective distros. so i
gave a try with "upgraded" distros. surprisingly (or not) i found that a
"RH7 upgrade" did *not* hav this /misc directory entry as 0 bytes.

now am i perplexed?
