Hi,
   What i got with RH 7.0 was 2.2.16-22 kernal not 2.4,
 But it contain gcc 2.96 which is not a release version,
and warned not to use it for development work.!!!!!(Then
why they had included it..)..
  What i personally feel that, There is no need to jump
to 7.0, wait till it get stable..

stage.can anyone explain how a kernal can appear in a
commercial
distribution when linus is going to release it in december.
