That is the problem - no messages in log file at all !

The same script works for root!

Let me first ask a basic question though -

I run fetchmail (via a script) as root - this distributes the mail to all
users properly using the procmail recipe in my root directory

Is there some special trick to invoke the second processing of procmail
recipes in the users directories?

Note the users never run fetchmail
