Hello everybody,
Recently I downloaded and compiled the released 2.4 kernel.
( Before that I was using Red Hat 2.2.16 kernel ).
After rebooting , I was unable to go to X.
So I copied my ( I am using i810 mobo) existing agpgart.o
module from /lib/modules/2.2.16/misc directory to
/lib/modules/2.4.0/misc directory.(Actually there was no
misc directory under /lib/modules/2.4.0 . So I created it.)
Even then when I fired startx&, I got this :

I had included support for i810 in the kernel.
I know I have made some mistake somewhere, but where, I do not know.
PLEASE HELP.
Regards,
Santanu Chatterjee.
