hell no ... if you run a caching nameserver locally (and/or your nameservers
are on the same lan as you are) it won't be slow at all.

With NAT, you are connected at approximately the same speed as the mailserver
is (there is a difference, but still ...).

Whatever goes on, netscape hands off to sendmail and shuts up ...

Of course, make sure port 25 is not firewalled at your router to force traffic
through your exchange server
