I have been trying to configure fetchmail to download mail from my POP
account. I am able to log on and see how many messages there are. Then
when fetchmail actually tries to download the mail it seems to freeze
then reports a timeout error. I have searched the mail archives and even
searched the fetchmail website and read the FAQ. The man pages also did
not help me. I suspect some problem with my loacl setting i.e. fechmail
may not be able to store the mail on my local machine. While I am
attatching a transcript of my fetchmail command below, the same results
occur when I manually edit the ".fetchmailrc" file. I also added the
line "user mario is mario" but it did not help. My session transcript is
pasted below:

The man pages indicate that termination status 7 indicates a timeout
error. This happens with my other pop accounts as well.
