hi !

follow following steps

1.create a dir in y'r account named public_html say cwu6/public_html/

2.give x -permisson to all (group and others )

                         for y'r home dir /home/cwu6
                         and to public_html dir

3.put index.html in public_html dir

and enjoy life every thing will work if apache is configured by default

ie . in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf the parameter

UserDir should be public_html

it is done by default but check it once
