Hi,

If I try to run X on potato I am getting the following error :

Symbol VBE_Init from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/i810_drv.o
Symbol VBEDOEDID from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/i810_drv.o

The module i810_drv.0 is present in that directory and I have got the
following line in my device section

driver 'i810'

which works fine on SuSE 7.

After doing normal installation ( simple - I have not selected advanced ),
icewm, mutt etc. are not installed.

Right now I am confused between dpkg, apt-get. What is the difference
between the two. If I install a .deb package using dpkg what I should do so
that apt-get also recognises that package is installed. What is better to
use apt-get or dpkg ?

No xf86config binary is installed after normal potato installation. How X
should be configured on Debian ?

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Warm Regards
