Hi all,
        I have installed Redhat 6.2 Linux from the PCQ CD, I
am trying to set up a mail server. I have done changes
in some files as mentioned in an artical "Get Going
With E-Mail" by Atul Chitnis in the May 1998 issues.
The changes are as followes.

File /etc/sendmail.cf

1)DS
  changed to
  DSsmtp.vsnl.com

2)DM
  changed to
  DMbrisk-india.com

3)O HoldExpensive=False
  changed to
  O HoldExpensive=True

4)Msmtp, P=[IPC], F=mDFMuX, S=11/31,
R=21,E=\r\n,L=990,
         T=DNS/RFC822/SMTP,
         A=IPC $h

Mesmtp, P=[IPC], F=mDFMuXa, S=11/31,
R=21,E=\r\n,L=990,
        T=DNS/RFC822/SMTP,
        A=IPC $h

Msmtp8, P=[IPC], F=mDFMuX8, S=11/31,
R=21,E=\r\n,L=990,
        T=DNS/RFC822/SMTP,
        A=IPC $h

Mrelay, P=[IPC],
F=mDFMuXa8,S=11/31,R=61,E=\r\n,L=2040,
        T=DNS/RFC822/SMTP,
        A=IPC $h

I placed a small e at the end of the F= field in each
one of the M setting.

File /etc/sendmail.cw

1)added a line
brisk-india.com

One setting I was not able to change is ,

I am writing as given in the artical

"Now we must stop sendmail from attempting to send out
mail on its own every now and then. Edit the file
/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail and change the following
line

daemon /usr/sbin/sendmail -bd -q15m

to

daemon /usr/sbin/sendmail -bd -os

and save the file.

There is no such line in that file

After doing all this I restarted the linux server, Now
from a win95 client I am able to send
internal mails, But when I try to send a mail outside
I get the following error

"An error occurred while sending mail.
The mail server responded:
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>....  Relaying denied
Please check the message recipients and try again"

please Help.

=====
Warm Regards
