<sigh> http://www.sendmail.org/faq/section3.html#3.27 (one of the top 5
questions asked about sendmail). Put the IP block used by your lan (say
10 for 10/8 and 192.168 for 192.168/16) in /etc/mail/relay-domains. Or
alternatively, put
192.168 RELAY
in your /etc/mail/access file and regenerate access.db using
makemap. http://www.sendmail.org/tips/relaying.html
I'll post a (rather updated) howto involving the sendmail.mc (the way to
go, or so I am told). Makes it far easier than modifying sendmail.cf -
and the same .mc file can be ported across different versions. Rather, as
it's a bit long, I'll put it up on a webpage somewhere and post the
URL. Over the weekend, I suppose, when I get some free time.
