You need to do two more things

see the file /etc/sysconfig/sendmail

change the queing time there.

Secondly sendmail which comes with RH 6.2 does not allow relaying by
default so you will have to do a change in /etc/mail/access file
Basically you have to allow relaying for your internal machines.

You can allow relaying for your entire IP range by specifying 

192.168.0               RELAY

in the file or allow particular IP addresses relay with

192.168.0.10            RELAY

after this go into the /etc/mail directory and run the following

make clean
make all

OR

better restart sendmail

Your problem should be solved.
