didn't know about these stats. That means a modem is actually better
unless you're working with an embedded device.

Well, actually I'm sitting here in Dallas in the US. I wanted to get some
client so that my folks back home could connect to my telephone from the
Linux box there. But since that is not to be, I'm planning to get a domain
(hopefully a .org) and DSL and set up a gateway to serve the Dallas area
(and myself). (this should take about 2 to 3 months) I hope xspeakfree
would be a good choice since it's available on all platforms. I'd be
grateful if someone guides me in coding for clients etc since I can't do
much more than set up servers.
