yep. however, there's an important diference. netscape (as FTP-client)
does not decipher the capabilities (on-the-fly tar/gzip) of the
FTP-server and send a request acordingly. in the FTP-server case, the
"client" has to ask for a "directory.tar(.gz)" or a "file.gz" when the
server suports it. in case of HTTP servers, the web-server decides
whether to send it or not; the browser can not demand.
