As per my experience, most of the bandwidth on a lan is hogged by napster /
messenger clients.  Firewall napster off and you'll save a lot of bandwidth.

If your boss wants, you can also firewall messenger / IM clients (and IRC) -
that'll stop your employees from goofing off instead of working.

Yeah, I know blocking is evil - but there are enough people around who abuse
the privilege of a free, fast pipe to the 'net
