I don't think so. the RH6.1 cd was used to install linux on quite a few
sytems at my office, and the RH6.2 cd was used by a friend to install
linux. BTW both the cd's were not PCQ cd's, rather copies of the actuall
RH cd's burnt at 2x speed.
Actually now that I remember, a friend of mine did a server install of
RH6.2 in front of me on an intel 486 dx2 and while I was sure it would
not work, to my utter disgust and shock, it did.
I too personally prefer fvwm/fvwm2/MWM over KDE/GNOME so I never install
these. For a 486, lesstif is the best in terms of hardware v/s
funtionality, twm is simply not intuitive enough for a newbie, and there
really isn't much difference between mwm and twm in terms of hardware.
Netscape was a downer though, I needed X only coz I love gvim which
meets all of my office needs.
going a bit off topic, I still have my old mobo + cabinet and am
wondering what to with it. Should I put in a HDD, n/w card and build a
simple n/w at home or try to use it as a linux terminal i.e. just with a
n/w card ? either way it would be a great learning experiance and make
my weekends that much more enjoyable.
