Hi Mayank,
I am using the new Lilo without any problems. I am also getting a nice boot
menu also on startup.
I too got the problem you are referring to
geo_comp_addr: Cylinder number is too big (1115 > 1023)
but after putting the following in lilo.conf
lba32
and running lilo -v everything works fine. Same thing I have installed on
one of our office machines there too it works fine. No probs.
Try it out.
Compiling this new lilo was very simple.
make
make install
lilo -v
:-)
ps.: it is always advisable to run lilo with -v and -t options first
(lilo -v -t <device>). And when you are sure everything is fine, no
errors are displayed on the screen you can actually write lilo on MBR with
lilo -v <device>.
Hope this helps.
Regards
