Well, I trusted apt-get and it has done a wonderful job I should say. This
is my third day on Debian. So I am just guessing here. May be you can put
the files you have downloaded in /var/cache/apt/archives and then use
apt-get to install it. I am not sure about this.

Also in XF86Config-4, I added the line Chipset "i810". That is it.

And I watched a VCD yesterday, using xine. It rocks! Fullscreen at 1024x768.
