That means your network is isolated from the entire world, on a 10.xx.xx.xx
IP?  What you are suggesting is "nobody from an outside domain can send mail
to users within my domain"

Get it ... 

user@internet --- your mailserver ---> user@your-domain <-> OK, happens all
the time 

user@internet -- your mailserver ---> [EMAIL PROTECTED] <-> third party
relay (what you are talking about)

When you run a mailing list using the aliases file you run into case # 1
above
