Running multiple instances of SETI@home on a single CPU machine is counter
productive. The SETI client is designed such that it takes up every
/available/ CPU time for computation. If you run more than one SETI client
on your single CPU machine, the two clients will compete for CPU time and
will each take approximately more than twice the time a single instance
took to run. The reason it is /more than/ twice is that the kernel would
take up resources to arbitrate between the two instances.
