Hey Rajesh!
Running my first self-compiled kernel. Yippiehh! - By the way, I'm using
reiserfs :-( . Your question about the correct partition given in lilo.conf
made me think of just experimenting a little before I post all this stuff.
Pointed <<root>> to <<hda7>> my /boot - partition, which I didn't thought
would make too much sense but the kernel message showed, that it went on a
little further than before (<<mounted /dev/hda7>> on ext2 but something like
<<no init found>>). So it really looked like if the kernel just wasn't able
to mount (read) the /root. That made me think of checking reiserfs support in
the kernel and you guess it - it was not enabled by default (The SuSE kernel
uses it as default so I thought all the time it MUST be inside). It was also
not obvious canceled out. Because you first had to enable the <<Code maturity
level options>> which I never have heard of before being able to enable
reiserfs. Huhhh. I think now I've got a new hobby ;-)! Thanks for your
guidance Rajesh!

Tom
