 What version of ppp do you have, and what version of modutils?
 The Documentation/Changes recommends (or rather demands) that you upgrade to
 the specified versions of gcc, modutils, ppp, etc, *before* reporting a
 kernel bug :)
 
 As I'm not a k3rn3l h4x0r, I have no idea about why exactly this change's required
 for the 2.4 series, just that it's required :)
