OK, i dont know what solved this - but I emptied /etc/resolv.conf and 
/etc/ppp/resolv.conf and removed usepeerdns from /etc/ppp/options, changed 
DNS to 202.9.128.7 and .6

One /combi of the above set it right and dishnet is now back in business.
