What do you mean by Linux 7.0? Linux is still in version 2.4.x. Please 
specify 7.0 of what distribution - Slackware, Mandrake, SuSE, RedHat.

Why not use something that works? Check out Rajesh Fowkar's article for 
installing Oracle, or look through the help pages at Oracle Corp., there a 
few links there.
