I'm not sure if your installation will work. I tried installing oracle 8i 8.1.7 on the same distro (pcq 7.1) and it kept failing with many dependency errors. I solved a few, but then got fed up and let it go.... I'm using postgreSQL now. Your mileage may vary. And IIRC, Oracle recommends only Redhat 6.2 for Oracle 8i. > Post install during the checking instances my m/c > hangs. My m/c is 300a celron. Do you have enough ram on your box.... atleast 128Megs is recommended.. the more the better. And I hope you've upgraded the distro.... specifically, you'll need to upgrade your glibc with the latest update that redhat provides... or your oracle installer will not even start up. On a side note, if you do get Oracle 8i working on a pcqlinux 7.1 box, I would be interetsed in hearing about it.
