Minicom is a terminal emulator, not a mail client. And most mail clients
(even pine and mutt) have pop3 capablity built in. Mutt has to use an
external mail agent (say sendmail / exim - or a simple mail sending agent
like Masqmail), though pine can use an external smtp server.
