Nope ... loadlin runs in Win-2k just like in Win-9x. There was
a long thread on this in the debian-user group some time ago.

Afterall, loadlin is merely a  pure MS-DOS program which loads
linux  operating system  from a  primary or  UMSDOS partition,
and that is UNIQUE!  The only  creavat is that, it should have 
all the memory available to pass on to the chained OS. That is 
why it should be fired from config.sys preferentially, or from 
pure non GUI DOS prompt boot. 

Win 2k can boot in pure DOS mode ... can't it ?
