Yes u can shift to graphical mode by using ctrl+alt+F7
and to change text mode ctrl+alt+F1 - F6
Try it.

But to logout from graphical mode there is one way 
press ctrl+Esc little long time and u will got the panel from that using arrow keys go 
to logout pannel.

Try it
