passwd.c 1.18 (24 Aug 99) When invoked as user it asks for Old Password for confirmation But as root, this is over-ridden. That is why with of loss of root password, we can make amendments after logging in single user mode. As root you can fsck anybody's happiness by just a change of password ! Yes, root can be dangerous :-) Bish. : ####[ Linux One Stanza Tip (LOST) ]########################### Sub : Setting system date and time LOST #125 All the clocks should be using the system time. To change that use the date command. Example : #date -s "09/24/2001 12:13:00" This should set your time to Sep 24 2001, 12:13:00 ####<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>################################## : _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
