Do note that 'latest stuff' backports are only security patches, max.  You
won't find extra features (suppose a new release of something has additional
features etc - those wont go into deb stable, they'll get moved into unstable
and later into testing).

So while apache 1.3.9 and exim 3.12 will have all the security fixes from
1.3.22 backported, they won't have the additional features that got built
into the newer versions. For that you'd have to get and run the deb package
from the unstable or testing trees.

on Linux can do it directly !!! In command mode of vim/ elvis
or nvi, type: ':set number' (or, ':se nu')... and to turn off
numbering during edit ':set nonumber' (or, ':se nonu').
