This is unlikely to be a boot virus, because you would not
have got the LIL- also. I hope you know what that means:

LIL- The descriptor table is corrupt. This can either be
caused by a geometry mismatch or by moving /boot/map
       without running the map installer.

If you have not changed your kernel, and this happens rep-
eatedly after booting from boot floppy and doing "lilo -v"
and re-run of the map installer the most likely chances are
dying cries of the boot sector ! This can happen at times
when you do a lot of installations/ de-installations of OSs
to the same hard disk where each is over-writing the MBR.

In case the MBR packs up your disk is still usable as slave
so don't throw it. Presently be kind to this one, and do
not whip it by re-writing boot records over and over again.
Pl use disks to boot into Linux/ Win ...

Everybody has heard of cat, to concatanate files and print to
standard output. But have you heard of "tac" ? This reads file
reverse. Try 'tac somefile.txt' and have a look ... or better
still 'tac somesound.au > /dev/audio' ... Enjoy !
