this happened to me a few times when my installation got 'hung' halfway 
through especially when it was installing lilo. if this is happening very 
frequently then try this,
1) When given the option, install lilo on the root partition instead of on MBR
2) Download XOSL ( a free boot manager ) and configure it to read all your 
OSes (pretty simple to do this once u read the help file)

NOTES: Try xosl.org for the software else search on google, xosl needs to be 
installed from a DOS partition, so boot into DOS before installing.
