To the best of my understanding, your problem of NAV will per-
sist even if you password protect lilo. This will  come up be-
cause every time NAV runs, it sees an alien MBR. The  solution
would be to achieve dual boot through loadlin, in  which  case
the MBR would be M$, and NAV would not have any complaints. OR
change to some other anti-virus (e.g. McAfee).

Regarding password under lilo see man lilo.conf and the README
file in lilo documents.
