Actually Suresh , i am using PC Quest Article for the configuration of the Gateway and the Intranet Machine. No where it mentions Fetchmail on the intranet box. So i thought it would take care automatically. So shall i make a file called .fetchmailrc under /root in the intranet/mail server and write the following
poll 192.160.145.151 with protocol pop3 user root with password girottee is root here. If this is to be given then the gateway server should act as a POP3 server also. Then i'll have to log out and logon as Amit Ok i went through the Faq also. I have already entered whatever it is asking for. Like i have sendmail-cf package installed. In /etc/hosts.allow It is asking me to make an entry for sendmail:ALL Amit --- Suresh Ramasubramanian <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > +++ AMIT GIROTTEE [linux-india] <03/02/02 23:47 > -0800>: > > in /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > > define(`SMART_HOST',`[192.160.147.151]') > > DAEMON_OPTIONS=(Port=smtp,Addr=192.160.147.150, > > Name=MTA) > > Then i did > > m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/sendmail.cf > > ok... but i dont see any indication of HOW you are > getting mail to your local > box... and from where. fetchmail? > > -- > Suresh Ramasubramanian <----> mallet <at> efn dot > org > EMail Sturmbannfuhrer, Lower Middle Class Unix > Sysadmin > [Linux One Stanza Tip] From : <From : freebsd > fortune> > LOST #177 -**< Sub : Using Aliases (csh shell/ > clones) >**- > You can use aliases to decrease the amount of > typing you need > to do to get commands you commonly use.
