wherever you want ...

1. If you are creating a single mailuser to pop down mail for ALL users on
your domain and distribute it to the LAN, set up a user "mailuser" (say) -
and then distribute the mails using fetchmail "multidrop" mode to all the
users on the lan. Or give all the users their own remote pop3 mailboxes,
makes your job much easier to distribute mails locally.

2. If all you are checking is your personal account set up a user "amit" and
use that.

that is for your lan? dont use user root...

yeah thats the basic idea (from win98 machines polling the local lan)

/etc/ppp/ip-up.local

> fetchmail --quitt
> /sbin/sendmail -q1h

/etc/ppp/ip-down.local

happen you are on a dialup.

startup / shutdwon may be different if on isdn ...

The best screen saver for your system is the Power switch of
your monitor - saves both electricity and phosphor .... Blank
screen at least saves phosphor .... All others save neither !
