Yours is a rather old system and it cannot take most of the newer distros. You need to stick to Kernel-2.2.x, and since you do not have much disk space (1gb), restrict the number of apps (and specially X apps) on the box. The distros that are likely to run smoothly on this box are: a) Debian potato b) Slackware 7.1 or less c) RH 6.2 or less d) SuSE 6.4 or less The easiest to run would be SuSE, since it has the driver for the xsis card for XFree 3.x. Avoid anything with kernel 2.4.x. Keep of KDE or gnome.You would be better off with fvwm2 or blackbox as the wm. Just my 2p.
