In particular, don't 

1. Try to use linuxconf AND tweak settings by hand
2. Try to use linuxconf on a production server (or anything that's on the
internet for significant amounts of time, with a static or nearly static IP)

For example:

[ karra@Gowron:/etc ] $ cd -
