I checked up by deleting wvdial.conf. It was freshly created after I reconfigured rp3. I did the reverse today, started up X, started rp3 and logged on to internet. Then opened a terminal and tried mutt. mutt logged on to my specified site yahoo and downloaded my e-mail. So, the DNS part is being taken care by rp3, logging on is through wvdial. That is why it did not work with wvdial alone. Therefore, I do need to configure DNS for using internet outside X. Is my reasoning correct? Now, how does rp3 manage DNS configuration? How to do likewise? regards, K.Ghosh. _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
