Maintaining the LAN is expensive for the cable company. And you are far
more likely to see problems with the hubs that will be probably used to
save money.
A cheaper alternative would be for the building residents to maintain
their own LAN and only have the modem provider responsible upto the
modem.

No ISP can currently afford to provide local LAN support to buildings.
Even if many are doing that, the customer will have to pay up for that
later in some way or the other.


To answer the original question, properly configured DSL would be better
than cable, but Dishnet is bad. They are just plain incompetent.

Go with Hathway since the only other choice seems to be dishnet.
