This is my story... successfully created a new pri dos partition by resizing my original partion - without loosing anything. Thanks to FIPS. Booted through debian cd (developrIQ). followed the prompts.. installed the LILO in the MBR, couldnot configure monitor, xserver. Windows now couldnot be booted to because of lilo in MBR. It was just a unix box. Some how edited lilo.conf usinf vi. Uncommented the lines other=dev/hda1 label=windows made default=windows timeout was 20. No other changes made. did :W to save :q to quit. Then rebooted. Winodws alive ! Rebooted, at lilo prompt tried to enter linux but no use. System booted windows. Inserted linux boot disk... but it was damaged... boot failed. Used loadlin to go to linux but it said 'Image not found'. Back to square one - windoze !
