A real admin would admin a real server.  A real server is a server not a 
workstation.  Servers do not have permanent keyboards, monitors, mice 
(these may be added in case of a network outage).  Servers are 
administered over ssh.

Yes, you can run X over ssh, and therefore GUI tools, but the command 
line is much faster.


NOTE: I have not said that real admins don't use GUIs.
