It's OK. I have told the fellow to bring in his HDD/CPU to my work place.
No other soln seems to be possible. I will install his HDD on my PC as 2nd
master - and re-install his lilo.

One small doubt ! Is there any way in Linux ( like M$ start-up boot screen,
which allows step-by-step processing of start-up files - like
autoexec.bat/config.sys in Winxx ) ? I think, some additional
parameters/commands in lilo.conf can do this trick. Any lilo experts here ?

Thanks !
