Nothing serious as far as I can tell.  mount (8), when it is asked to mount
/dev/hda3 too many times just routinely runs fsck on it when it reaches a
threshold of 'n' mounts.  Basically, fsck is automatically run on the
partition every 'n' mounts. Alternatively, fsck is also invoked on a
partition being mounted when the partition is being mounted after a very
long time.
