It even works for Sony Cybershot DSC F707 in normal mode It is very cool, You can transfer file just like that, it even lets you format the way you want to.
It just worked flawlessly on my RH7.3 system, all the modules where installed automatically, all I have to do was just say mount mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/camera It was that easy. I have even added an entry to my auto.mnt file where I have all my autofs mounted mount points. camera -fstype=auto /dev/sda1 just like the above where you don't have to mount just say cd /mnt/camera it will be mounted automatically. this may be handy where you don't want to do the whole thing manually. -Jujubhs --- Vipul Mathur <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi Abhiram, > > On Mon, Sep 09, 2002 at 06:27:13PM +0530, Abhiram > Singh kushwah wrote: > > could anybody please help me how to mount usb x > drive (the ultimate storage > > device) in linux . > > Most USB mass storage devices are mounted as virtual > scsi devices. > > When you insert the drive into the USB port, do a > dmesg and look for > messages telling you about the kernel reacting to > the USB device. > > You will see something like "Attached USB Mass > Storage device as /dev/sda1" > > Now as root, create a mountpoint (say /mnt/xdrive) > and mount the drive as: > > # mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/xdrive > # cd /mnt/xdrive > # ls > > You should see the contents of your drive. > > This even works with other USB storage devices such > as zip drives, > flash card readers etc. > > -- > ------------------------------,_,------------------------------------ > Vipul Mathur (O,O) mail at > vipulmathur dot org > http://vipulmathur.org/ ( ) vipul at > linux-delhi dot org > ------------------------------"-"------------------------------------ > "There is a difference between knowing the path and > walking the path." > -- Morpheus, "The Matrix" > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This sf.net email is sponsored by: OSDN - Tired of > that same old > cell phone?
