i normally adjust the brightness/contrast setting and this works just
peachy for me. Really this question is better answered by an eye
speciallist. if you feel any discomfort sitting in front of a montitor
for extended periods of time, take a brake, adjust settings if this
doesn't work get your eyes checked. if your opthalmalogist recommends
an anti-glare screen or anti-glare glasses use them.
