| I believe you have to pay royalties for mp3 nowadays. | http://slashdot.org/articles/02/08/27/1626241.shtml?tid=155 |
i use cdex with the encoder from http://bladeenc.mp3.no/ in fact from http://www.inf.ufpr.br/~gavm00/ ( there is the windows DLL , which can be used as a plugin for the linux, a .deb file, but they claim that its unstable). The list of countries present there, seems safe for people who are based in India, for its not mentioned in that list. b.t.w does a player like winamp or xmms, decode an mp3 file to play it ? if that is so, then probably winamp might have to pay a royalty too! cant understand much. anybody has got a link with more details on this ?
