Sure there are security holes in the kernel (I presume that that's
what you mean by `Linux').  Maybe fewer than in applications, but
there's nothing sacrosanct about the kernel.  It's just software after
all.

You seem to be saying that cost == security.  Sounds like a completely
false argument to me.  Debian is one of the more secure regular
distributions going around, and it's free in all senses of the word.
