Hi all, I have a problem(as usual).
After some(lot of?) juggling, I got radio on my TV tuner card to work. It's a 'SilverCrest Typhoon' card with BT878 chipset. You need to add card=36 in modules.conf . I am going to write the module maintainer about it. Now this radio buzzing nicely, I want to record from it. The TV tuner audio is connected to line1 of sound card. I should be able to start and stop recording at any point of time and it should allow me to enter file name as recording is going on. Since this is live recording, not mising starting point of a song are important to me..;-) If the thing does direct conversion to ogg etc. it's an added advantage.. I know KHDRecord can do that and I am going to try it. Are there any other alternatives. Of course, I will be searching freshmeat etc. but let me know your experiences. I discovered a few things in the mean time. 1) radio is nice little console app. absolutely rocks. 2) oggenc /dev/dsp is more taxing than running tuxracer on i810. I pity on my CPU as it's going to do this often. 3) Broadcast 2000 is included in 3CD set of mandrake 9. So nice of them as I have all the 3 CDs..
