rec -t au /tmp/test.au and then encoding into ogg, i dont know, if the
streaming rate is right maybe you can even pipe the output to lame and get ogg
directly ;)

BTW lookout for a noise filter called anoi, comes as a tarball, pretty
good.

i think xmms has a broadcast feature implemented as a plugin, recently i
came to know about an interesting project. Its not open source yet but its
getting there ( pun unintentional ). Its called peercast, a p2p network
for streaming mp3/ogg files. Broadcasting through shoutcast or live 365 is
painfull on the desktop as everyone will try to connect to my desktop for
the stream. Wheres as in peercast, the service can be delegated to anyone
listening to the stream who can then rebroadcast
